An ERG BHM celebration around the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop

MANIFESTO

Hip-Hop.

What began with two turntables and a microphone, the Hip Hop genre is a musical art form that also serves as a mirror that reflects back parts of the Black experience onto the wider culture at large.

From movies to fashion, art, beauty, business, politics, technology, language and even food and drink…Hip-Hop is about that life.

Because it’s more than music.

It’s Culturally Rooted.

ON THE GROUND

  • FRESH FIT THURSDAYS

For February, during Black History Month, let’s pull up with confidence and show off our freshest fits, sweet kicks and fire hairstyles with those baby hairs slicked back like it’s the first day of school. This is our moment to show the impact we have within fashion by stepping out to demonstrate style, determination, and unity in celebrating Black culture.

  • PAINT N SIP

Brining in the beauty of community during a craft night this BHM, fostering socialization and expression in a safe space.

  • BLACK BAZAR

We hosted a Black Bazaar with a curated and shoppable experience, where our agency got a chance to turn up, let loose and of course shop from Black-owned businesses. This also became the perfect opportunity to contribute to the Buy Black Agency Challenge.

*MIC DROP*

In honor of #BHM this year, our Spotify playlist was inspired by our theme “Culturally Rooted” which honors the 50th anniversary of HipHop.

This playlist is a 90’s baby’s testament to Hip-Hop. Filled with the songs we grew up with, that we sat on our stoops with our friends and memorized by heart. Songs that tap into memories, spark joy, and personify our voice as a people.
